                                       Happy 99th Birthday Granada Hills !


Yes ….99 Years Ago on  April 18th 1926  the Community of “ Granada “ was born !!!!
A Naming Contest and a $500 Cash prize ( 1926 Monies ! ) was awarded to a couple from Van Nuys in a large gathering Spanish Barbecue at the Sunshine Orange Groves Ranch located at Rinaldi and White Oak . The Name “ Granada “ was  selected for the new Township due to our local climate and topography similar to Granada Spain


The Granada Hills Centennial 100 Celebration is Officially on its way with it’s informative and colorful One Year Events  Resources Website www.granadahills100.com recently launched …and  soon our eye catching Major Street Intersection Commemorative Centennial Banners scheduled to go up in a few days


Our first Three upcoming Community Calendar April / May Events include :

  • Saturday  April 26 ,2025 “ Old Granada Village “  B.I.D .Centennial Wall Mural Unveiling Dedication Ceremony 12 Noon - Public Invited  ( Location Frontier Building at Southwest Corner of Encino Avenue and Chatsworth Street )

  • Thursday May 15th  2025 - Granada Elementary School -  Granada Hills Centennial  Dedication Cake Cutting and Program / By Invite ( School Auditorium)

  • Sunday May 18th 2025 / Granada Hills Woman’s Club “ Roaring 20’s “ Costume Dance “ 2 PM to 6 PM ( Tickets on Sale starting Next week Chamber Constant Contact Information Announcement )and a Lot Lot more throughout the next twelve months

Membership is open to any person who has a desire to enrich their life by putting  talents, time and experiences to work on causes that benefit families and the community  and have a lot of fun at the same time.

In October 1927, in the small village known as Granada, Mrs. Sara N. Butler founded the present day Granada Hills Woman's Club. The original group of 11 women set the pattern of enthusiasm and accomplishments.
